Argos who was bought by Sainsbury’s have now shut the doors on their store on School Road in Sale, and moved it into the Sainsbury’s store nearby.

The original Argos store on School Road had been trading there for many decades, but saw a slow decline in footfall in recent years, looking at the store front we can see the big logos have gone and boarding has been added to the windows.

Some people who grew up around the area, are sad to see the store go, and hoped that the replacement will be a sports shop, we agree with this, as Sale and all of the borough have to travel to Broadheath to get any cheap sportswear equipment from Sports Direct.

JD Sports is a bonus for Trafford who are now doing very well in Stretford Mall, the great debate continues as to what people want to see in Sale,more so in the store left vacant by Argos.
