Mere is not far south of Manchester Airport, and is right on top of Tatton Park, on February 24 it was the epicentre of a small earthquake which was magnitude 1.4 which was shallow enough for people to notice including those at the airport.

A bigger earthquake occurred today February 28 in Cumbria, this one was magnitude 3.2.

The UK has many little tremors and smaller earthquakes, many undetected, it will seem to some that something is wrong, however there is nothing to worry about, the UK is safer than anywhere else as we do not sit on a major fault line.

Some quakes though are made due to shale extraction, where they extract methane deep below the surfacing, fracking can cause tremors.
