As we begin to get glimmers of sunshine and lighter nights our thoughts spring to a more active leisure time for us and our children. This week a National initiative to encourage young children from 5-8 years to play cricket is launched by the E.C.B. and will be fed out by schools and cricket clubs across the country. Already over 18,000 children have signed up following on from the 37,000 that enjoyed their sessions last year. A huge success for the sport.
Local club Trafford MV will begin their sessions on Tuesday May 15th at 6.00pm and will run for 8 weeks initially. Parents are encouraged to get signed up early so their children will receive their kit and bag of equipment before the courses begin. The kit provided is really impressive and the children do love to wear it – it gives them that team feeling of togetherness – so please try to book early to avoid disappointment.
Details can be provided on this link https://ecb.clubspark.uk/AllStars/Course/
Over 20 young players enjoyed their first taste of cricket with Trafford MV last Summer and the club will be looking for similar numbers this year. Boys and girls are welcome to play and mums and dads are actively encouraged to join in the fun.
Now is the time to get young children involved in sport in the hope of a long-term active lifestyle which may keep them fit, healthy and active for many years to come. As well as giving them many life skills such as team work, leadership, confidence, respect and new friendships. Please share this with your family friends and school contacts.
