Police release CCTV footage of two men robbing a Co-op in Sale

Police have released CCTV footage after two men emptied the self-service tills at the Co-operative foodstore at Coppice Avenue in Sale.

Shortly after 6am on March 22, police were called to reports of a robbery at the Co-op.

Two men had gone into the shop and grabbed the members of staff inside, demanding money, before forcing them into the back room.

The two men then fled the shop in a grey Audi A3.

Detective Constable Dan Hayes of GMP’s Trafford Borough said: “The offenders were set on taking money that they had no concern for the safety of the shop’s hard-working staff.

“They were left shaken by the incident and it’s fortunate that the staff were only left with minor injuries as a result.

“This happened at opening time so I’d ask anyone who was in the area and saw the two men around the shop or for anyone who recognises the men in the footage to get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 1537 or 101, quoting incident number 269 of 22/03/18 reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
