The Asics Manchester Marathon got underway in what was almost ideal conditions for the 26.2 mile run with thousands of people turning out for the event.
The route was slightly changed as residents increasingly turned nasty last year that is despite advanced notice of road closures, even so some marshals were still experiencing some issues.
Spectators lined the route and more music was heard this year along Washway Road, and many DJs on the PA helping create a carnival style atmosphere, it got that good we saw several security staff having a dance and really enjoying the event, it was so nice to see.
Potholes along the route was something we warned people about before hand, we noticed One Trafford out in force sweeping up and in fact making a right mess of the cycle lane under the M60 flyover, it now resembles a mud bath!
The leader at Stretford was in fine form, and likely to have been the winner, we will update this article soon with all the results of what was a great day for sport and for Trafford.
