Police held up with a gun in Partington

Police investigating a disturbance in Partington are hoping the public can further help them as they continue their investigation.

At around 1:50am on Saturday 30 June 2018, officers attended Moss Lane after reports of a disturbance at a property on the street.

Upon attendance, the responding officers had a gun pointed at them and as a result, armed police were deployed to the scene.

A 27-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later. He has since been charged with firearms offences.

Detectives investigating the case have also seized a sawn off shot gun.

Thankfully nobody was injured during the incident and police are continuing to appeal for the public to come forward with information that can assist the investigation team.
