Boyz n the hood director John Singleton has died after being on life support aged 51.
Singleton was born in Los Angeles USA on Jan 6th 1968, in his early years he attended Blair High School and Pasadena City College, he graduated from USC school of cinematic arts in 1990.
He will be best known for the film Boyz n the hood, a gang type film with a message, Ice Cube and Cuba Gooding Jnr starred in the film, Singleton was an Academy Award nominations for best original screen play and best director for the film.
Singleton also directed a further 12 movies including Poetic Justice and 2 fast 2 furious, he also produced 6 films and was an actor for a short time.
The director had a stroke on the 17th April 2019 whilst out in Costa Rica, he returned to the USA and ended back at a hospital in a coma, he was on life support for a while until the decision was taken to take him off it and he died hours later on April 29th.
