Goalkeeper Iker Casillas stable after a heart attack

Porto Goalkeeper Iker Casillas aged 37 is stable tonight after having a heart attack whilst training with his club.

The spanish keeper took ill and was checked over by club doctors who sent the player straight to hospital.

His club porto confirmed he suffered an ‘acute myocardial infraction’ this morning May 1st.

An acute myocardial infraction is where a blood clot stops blood from getting to the heart which can damage the heart if not sorted out, fortunately the goalkeeper got it sorted out fast and no damage has been caused.

Players and managers came out on social media wishing the player well including Gareth Bale and Rafa Benitez.

The player will stay in hospital for observations but is expected to make a full recovery.
