It is not immediately clear of how the driver ended up crashing into the house on Manchester Road close to the junction of Sinderland Road although it looks like the driver has lost control heading south and crossed all lanes and somehow ended up in the garden.

The wall had been hit hard by the car although it looks like only minor damage was done to the house from pictures seen, a cordon was put in place on the foot path for a time and has since been lifted.

If you saw anything or have any dashcam footage of the incident you can contact police on 101 or use the chat facility on the GMP website.
