The film released by Universal studios/Illumination shows a younger Gru who goes up against a gang called Vicious 6 after failing to convince them in an interview to be a villain!  two of the members feature the voices of Jean Claude Van Damme as ‘Jean Clawd’ and Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance.

Gru will be played by Steve Carell and Dr Nafario’s voice will be played by Russell Brand, it is great the original voices are still playing the characters in this film.

In the film Gru tries to be a gangster, but never makes the grade after taking a stone with what looks like emerald diamonds all around it, because of this theft the gang goes looking for it no matter where Gru ends up they are not far behind, it is with the help of the minions Gru finds a way to escape, he now thinks he is a super villain!

At one point in the film though one of the minions traded the round object for what looks like a pebble with eyes, Gru was unhappy at a meeting with all his minions and found the very minion who traded it.

It looks like a box office smash to us and one all the family can enjoy.

Although with the Coronavirus things have been either postponed or put back until autumn it is likely this film will get the thumbs up as the date of release in the US will be 3 July 2020.
