Apply for your free £50 governments ‘fix your bike’ voucher

The UK government are giving away a £50 voucher to everyone who needs a bike to be fixed from 11.45pm tonight 28 July 2020.

You will find participating bike shop or somewhere like Halfords and give them the voucher, it is expected bike mechanics will be very busy and your bike will have to be left with them and they will probably give you a call when the work is done.

Halfords in Altrincham are participating, be wary though as they tend to create more problems, for example a bike one of our reporters bought from the same store had to pay more money after the rear gear wire was placed in the wrong position meaning the cable had snapped on the down tube, when buying a bike or getting a repair you must check everything.

The £50 is completely free however if the job is less than £50 you will not get any change back, you can only have one voucher per bike and you can only have two vouchers.

Vouchers will be snapped up quick so we suggest you get on the website the second it goes past midnight

Trafford has hardly any bike shops, something we hope changes soon! participating in the scheme is Halfords in Altrincham, Evans Cycles near Trafford Centre and a small bike shop in Urmston.
