
The Granada Reports presenter Tony Morris has sadly passed away aged 57, the presenter died on Saturday at a hospice in Bury.
Tony had presented Granada Reports on ITV for 17-years often alongside Lucy Meacock who said: “Tony was a great observer of people and a great listener.”
He helped win a BAFTA for a regional news programme in 2007 and a second BAFTA in 2013,
Tony served in the RAF for around 10-years and did normal every day jobs he decided one day to try his hand as a local reporter for a paper and then found his way on to the TV reading the news for the first time after the original newsreader was not present, from that moment on he became a news presenter and a very good one.
He was well respected in the media and with viewers alike, he was a charitable man off the screen and helped disadvantaged people.
Tony died after having kidney cancer.
