Young couple describe process of buying Stretford home through the pandemic

Shabaz and Amelia

In 2019, Amelia and Shabaz were originally living in a 3-bed semi-detached home but were looking to move somewhere closer to Manchester.

When considering appropriate locations, they came across Stretford where they discovered Novus was being built by award-winning homebuilder Miller Homes

The couple were attracted to Novus because of the convenient mix of houses and apartments, knowing that this would make for a diverse community that includes young professionals and families.

Shabaz and Amelia first reserved their home at the end of 2019, off-plan, and by January 2020 the sales centre opened and they attended the prestige Novus launch event.

Despite the challenges of lockdown and the various Government restrictions, they were pleasantly surprised to complete and move in a year later in November 2020, just a little later than anticipated. The couple expressed how impressed they were with this turnout, acknowledging that there were periods of complete site shutdown in the past year.

Commenting on their moving experience, Amelia and Shabaz said: “Considering everything that was thrown at the developers and the contractors, we were pleased to get that completion through in 2020.”

Looking for extra space, especially with the recent introduction of working from home, a factor that changed during their buying processs, Shabaz and Amelia were interested in the Venit house type at Novus, a 4 bedroom home with plenty of room for a home office. This is the home they went on to buy.

The couple went on to give details on how Miller Homes helped them through the whole process, which was dramatically different due to restrictions. Even though they were not able to visit  the development, Amelia and Shabaz were kept well-informed and regularly sent photos of their home, as well as receiving regular phone calls with updates. They said it felt like they had designed their home alongside Miller Homes.

Commenting on this, Clare Noakes, Sales Director for Miller Homes in the North West said: “This is an important part of the Miller Homes process. Buyers should feel as though their home is unique by taking advantage of various personalisation opportunities.”

The couple now live happily in their 4-bedroom home at Novus, an ongoing North West Miller Homes development that contains a mix of contemporary apartments and homes.

The sales centre and show home at Novus is now open by appointment only: 7 days a week,10:30am until 5:30pm. It is located on Renton Rd, Stretford, M32 0YA and you can find out more on the Miller Homes website. Interested house hunters are  invited to pre-book appointments online or to call 0330 162 3986 to arrange over the phone.
