Comedian Tom O’Connor has died aged 81

Tom was born in Bootle on Merseyside in 1939 he was more than just a comedian he presented many game shows like Crosswits, Name that tune and gambit and his own show ‘The Tom O’Connor show’.

His break into TV was starring in ‘The Comedians’ in the 70’s and 80’s, he also appeared on the TV programme ‘This is your life’ with Eamonn Andrews.

O’connor appeared on BBC’s Pointless quiz show ‘Pointless’ in a celebrity edition with his daughter-in-law Denise Lewis the former Olympic heptathlete.

O’Connor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2007 and died in hospital.
