IT’S crunch time in the Vanarama National League playoff race and Altrincham FC are gearing up for two huge games at the J.Davidson Stadium in the coming weeks.

Before Oldham Athletic visit Alty on Easter Monday there’s another massive clash with playoff implications as Non-League Day 2024 sees Gateshead travel to the J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday for a 7th versus 8th clash with a traditional 3pm kick-off.

With no Premier League or Championship fixtures this weekend there’s no better time to sample the delights of local football than on Non-League Day – which celebrates the rich history of football in Britain, shining a light on local football while the big boys are on their international break.

Started in 2010, the initiative is enthusiastically celebrated up and down the country, while also promoting good causes such as Prostate Cancer UK – who the Robins have partner with as one of 10 Non-League Day Showpiece games this season.

The Gateshead game is also one of seven “Cup finals” standing between Phil Parkinson’s team and a coveted place in the post-season, with the ultimate prize a place in the Football League next season via a Wembley Stadium showpiece final on May 4.

Altrincham FC Director John Coyne said: “We want to showcase everything positive about Altrincham Football Club on what is a huge day for non-league football clubs up and down the country.

“We’re calling on everyone to come and join us on Saturday, enjoy an afternoon at the J.Davidson Stadium and cheer the lads on in what we hope will be another high-energy, entertaining spectacle.”

Tickets for the game against The Heed are available via altrinchamfc.com, from the club’s hugely popular retail store & community hub in Altrincham town centre or at the J.Davidson Stadium on match day via cash turnstiles and include entry to our popular fan zone, which opens at 1pm and serves local beer and delicious curries as well as offering live pre-match music.

A bumper crowd on Saturday week would not only be a fantastic way to celebrate non-league football in the Altrincham area but could galvanise and propel the clubs already hugely positive season to new heights.
