Police closed off Carrington Lane early this morning after an electric bus caught fire.

Firefighters from Sale and Stretford came to put the fire out which took over an hour, no one was injured in the blaze.

It is currently unknown what the number was of this Stagecoach bus however with the amount of fires from these electric buses it brings into question if the technology is ready yet?

Many electric buses have caught fire up and down the UK and when these buses go bang they really do! and takes firefighters longer than a normal fire.

Bus operators must have a rethink for safety purposes until electric buses are fully safe to use in all conditions.
