Coronation street actress Jean Alexander who played Hilda Ogden in the soap has died just days after she celebrated her 90th birthday.
She died in hospital after a short illness on October 14.
Jean played her alias Hilda Ogden from 1964 until 1987, she also appeared in ‘Last of the summer wine from 1988 as Auntie Wainwright, in 1987 she received a BAFTA nomination as best actress, she retired from acting in 2012.
