The NHS is under severe pressure and A&E departments up and down the country are struggling to cope.

fortunately for everyone in the UK we have in place the British Red Cross who are helping to fill in the gaps, they have now declared a “Humanitarian Crisis” and warned the government to allocate funds for health and social care as soon as possible.
The crisis hit an all time high according to the British Red Cross with fourteen health trusts in the space of just one day experienced overcrowding in their A&E departments, this also has a knock on effect on the ambulance service with many facing big delays.
Many patients are fit to leave hospital but do not have the right care and support when they get home, this is where most of the pressure is, on discharging patients.
If a patient is fit enough to leave, they ought to be able to go back home and recover in the comfort of their homes, but what is the point if there is no care for them? all that happens is they either have a bad fall and not found sometimes for days or something else, and then they end up back in A&E again, so the pressure is never off due to that issue.
Mike Adamson said: “The British Red Cross is on the front line, responding to the humanitarian crisis in our hospital and ambulance services across the country.
“We have been called in to support the NHS and help get people home from hospital and free up much-needed beds.
“This means deploying our team of emergency volunteers and even calling on our partner Land Rover to lend vehicles to transport patients and get the system moving.
“We call on the UK government to allocate immediate funding to stabilise the current system and set out plans towards creating a sustainable funding settlement for the future.”
