The Samuel Platt’s pub on Trafford Wharf Road just around the corner from Manchester United FC Old Trafford ground suffered serious fire damage after a fire that took hold in the early hours of June 8.

The pub was a popular one for Manchester United fans wanting a pre-match pint, it was also popular after a game.
It was an interesting building with an octagonal-shaped building sitting on a pedestal above the Manchester ship Canal with small walk ways, in the past close to where the pub is located was a train swing bridge in 1953.
GMFRS and GMP are holding an investigation on how the fire started.
