Which said that the Virgin Media router affected is the ‘hub 2 router’ and the default password must be changed or you could be hacked by an army of sophisticated hackers.

Once inside the network of a hacked router, the hacker has complete control of your system and things connected to it, your smart devices and mobiles etc.

Virgin Media are now aware of the issue and are upgrading people to the more secure ‘Hub 3’ router, but those left on the ‘hub 2 router’ will be getting a message from Virgin to change the password as soon as they can.

To change your password, remember to add numbers and a mix of capital letters, using passwords that remind you easily like a name of a pet or your name etc will leave the door wide open.
