Chaplain aged 74 charged with serious sex offences

A 74-year-old chaplain has been charged with sexual offences against two girls allegedly under 16.

 Alan Devine aged 74 who lives in Stockport has been charged with fifteen offences including rape, indecent assault and gross indecency.

 The charges relate to incidents involving two girls under the age of 16 at a school in Stockport. The incidents took place between 1972 and 1976.

 He has been bailed and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates Court at 10am on Aug 21.
