A very young boy has died in a collision on a car park on Trafford Road near to the IBIS hotel.

Just before 9.15pm on Aug 10 police were called to reports of a collision involving a 17-month-old boy and a Tiyota Rav-4 on a car park on Trafford Road.
Many emergency services attended including armed police, but the boy sadly died at the scene.
Officers from GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, however at this time it is believed that this as a tragic accident and that there are no suspicious circumstances.
Police Sergeant Brian Orr of the GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This was a heart breaking incident involving a young boy which has understandably left the family distraught and the thoughts of everyone in the SCIU are with them at this terrible time.
“At the moment this appears to have been a truly tragic accident and not a suspicious incident, however we have launched an investigation to establish a full understanding of exactly what happened.”
