Man dies after being hit by a train in Flixton

Emergency services was seen all over the area around Flixton train station, and traffic built up on Flixton Road for a time at around midday.

British Transport Police said: “We were called at 11.59am to Flixton railway station in Greater Manchester, to reports that a man had been struck by a train.

“Officers are currently at the scene alongside paramedics, who treated the man but he has sadly died at the scene.

“The incident is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

We are now told the man who sadly died was an elderly male.
