Police responding to an emergency call have collided on the A56 opposite Stretford Mall.
The collision occurred at around 12.50am on December 10 after police were called to reports of masked men on Avonlea Road in Sale, which turned out to be a well-intended false report.
The road was closed for a time whilst treatment was given to the officers and the damaged cars taken away.
Two patrol cars that responded to the emergency call collided with each other whilst in full emergency mode, both officers were taken to hospital for treatment for non life changing injuries and were subsequently discharged.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with any dash-cam footage to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
