Police respond after calls that a man had been assaulted on Woodsend Circle

Shortly before 3.10pm on February 22, police were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Woodsend Circle.

Reports on social media suggested the group had been fighting in a local Sainsbury’s store and one of the lads had tried to get on a bus, before officers stopped it and detained the youth, another report on social media suggested their was a knife involved which turned out to be false.

Officers attended and found a large group of youths who were spoken to and moved on.

A boy was detained at the scene and spoken to by officers before being taken home.
