A man has been charged after a machete attack in the city centre.

Ryan McPhee aged 27 from Partington has been charged with section 18 assault and remains in custody.

A court appearance has not yet been set for McPhee as he is currently in hospital for an unrelated matter.

At around 10pm on March 16th, police were called to reports that a man in his 30s had been assaulted outside Barca bar in Catalan Square, he remains in hospital for life-changing injuries.
