Trafford police arrested a man just after 11am this morning after he crashed his car in Altrincham.

The incident occurred at the junction of Sandiway Place and Manchester Road, once police arrived the male offender ran off and hid in a nearby garden.

He then ran off again, and police caught him and was then detained.

The offender was arrested for drink and drug driving and for dangerous driving and on his way to custody.
