A motorcyclist has had his leg amputated after a taxi driver drove into him in Manchester.

The driver named as Mohammad Bhatti aged 58 from Bolton was sentenced today at Bolton Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention.
Shortly after 6pm on November 10th 2017, police were called to a collision on the A575 Albert Road in Farnworth.
The motorcyclist aged 42 was riding along Albert Road near Lidl when Bhatti’s taxi turned into him at a junction.
He was taken to hospital where 15 attempts to save his leg was made, doctors sadly had to partially amputate it.
Bhatti, who pleaded guilty, was handed the maximum sentence in court can impose for the offence – a driving ban for six months!
