Police are currently responding to a report that unstable chemicals had been found in City Centre Manchester.
At around 2.15pm today April 18th, police received the report that a quantity of unstable chemicals has been found in a lab within a University building on Princess Street.
Emergency services are in attendance and three buildings have been evacuated as a precaution.
The substances are being assessed and a scene remains in place around the building.
Road closures are in place on Princess Street, Sackville Street, Brook Street, Clark Street, and the slip road off Mancunian Way onto Sackville Street.
Some buses will also be affected.
