Warburton Toll Bridge owned by Peel Ports will install a new toll booth which was originally to have been done by this weekend, apparently they did not have clearance by Trafford Council so work has now been delayed until May 28th.
As work gets underway the bridge will close between 9am and 3pm, Peel have said roads will also close around the bridge.
The booth was attacked by arsonists on May 10th and Cheshire police are currently investigating who was responsible.
Many people in Warburton and in neighbouring Cadishead, Irlam and Partington including Lymm use the bridge, some on a daily basis to get wherever they need to be, the amount of traffic all around the area was backing up and residents took to social media to vent their frustrations.
A Trafford councillor had come out of his shell for once and said that Peel had no rights to close any roads or install a toll booth on the original date of work which was yesterday May 24th.
