Planners at Trafford Council have refused Tesco’s in Altrincham (Manor Ave) to install a car body repair centre which would have been situated on the car park.

The council refused because of where the repair centre was to be situated, which is at the front of the store would have looked out of character for the area, and potential requirements for am acoustic barrier in order to mitigate noise impacts would create an obtrusive and over dominant feature of the area which would have a detrimental impact on the visual appearance of the location.

The size of the proposed same day repair centre would have been 7.4m x 5.61m wide and approximately 3.8m high.
