A suspected historic grenade has been found near to Brookland’s Metrolink station in Sale just after 7am this morning.

We are now told the Bomb Disposal Unit has arrived to make the bomb safe.

Some routes have been blocked, Marsland Road to Walton Road, and the Bridgewater Canal tow path both ways and the Bridgewater Canal tow path.

If you are going on the Metrolink at this time the tram will not be stopping at Brooklands.
