On one of the warmest days of the year Manchester Airport celebrates it’s 80th birthday in style.

The airport started life on June 25th 1938 with a Royal Air Force fly over, it is now the third biggest airport in the UK.

It is a very important part of the city, looking after millions of people from all over the world.

The airport has a viewing area for fans of aircraft that has seen many new friends being created, you can also see the Concorde in all its glory and other aircraft on site.

We congratulate everyone at the airport for making it so big and great, the ATC for its hard work ensuring everyone is as safe as possible, and the police who make sure everyone is safe in and around the airport.

The baggage handlers do an amazing job and the cleaners making sure the aircraft you fly in is as clean as possible, and these people work very hard indeed.

Congratulations Manchester Airport.
