Man from Sale charged after he was driving along Barton Road and colliding into an 80-year-old woman who later died

A 47-year-old Sale man has been summonsed following a fatal collision in Trafford. 

Darren Waul (11/01/1971) of Chepstow Avenue, Sale has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and driving whilst unfit through drugs. 

He has been summonsed to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday 14 August 2018. 

Shortly after 7.55am on Wednesday 13 December 2017, police were called to reports of a collision involving a black Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian on Barton Road. 

An 80-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she sadly died a few weeks later.
