Vaughan Dowd (03/10/1964) of Irlam Square, Salford has been charged with criminal damage and racially aggravated criminal damage.

He has been remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday 21 February 2019).

It follows racist graffiti being spray painted onto the front door of a flat in Irlams o’ th’ Height on Friday 8 February 2019.

The family had only just moved in from Africa when the incident happened, speaking on BBC NWT a father and son told of how they were scared to go out in fear of more attacks and the upset it had caused them.

Gladly we can reveal that the community around them pulled together and helped this new family out, making them feel welcomed and safe of which we are incredibly proud about and makes those few who are as racist as Dowd was look even more of a disgrace.
