Due a late postponement of last weekends ADM League Cup match at Aldwinians it is now back to league action this weekend.
Liverpool Collegiate are the opponents and there must be a positive reaction from MV after the disappointing performance last time out against Ormskirk which saw a 13 – 31 home defeat.
Collegiate however have had a poor start to the season and have yet to pick up a win home or away although they were unfortunate not to come out with a first win in the last game against Heaton Moor which they lost by one point 13-12, previous to that on Spetember 21st they took on Didsbury and the game was tied at 20-20.
MV though must see this up coming fixture as a must win game to kick start their own season, the team can look back at the wins already gained this season and show a commitment to excellence and the will to win games like never before giving the fans something to be proud about.
MV’s 2nd XV are at home in a League and Cup double header with Aspull as the opposition and the winner taking league points and progression through to the next round of the Halbro Cup.
With England Rugby’s progression into the Rugby World Cup semi-finals with their impressive 40-16 win over Australia to meet the All Blacks, Trafford MV are inviting all local rugby players who may have drifted out of the game to ”Get Your Boots On” and get back into the sport of Rugby Union.
The Club offers rugby to all ages from 3 years of age mini rugby all the way through to Vets Rugby (with a floodlight game vs Eccles on Fri Nov 1st). There is also Walking Rugby for the over 50’s which is fun and free! If you are keen to get into / or back into the sport please message wilfdooley@virginmedia.com for information.
