Police close off Flixton Road after a head on two car collision

Police closed off Flixton Road (Mile Road) after a two car collision occurred at around 12.30pm this afternoon.

A van was also involved although not badly damaged in the collision.

An ambulance was present and paramedics were seen treating people at the scene.

Delays to the bus network occurred due to the crash and that meant the 255 to and from Partington was delayed.

It is not fully understood how the crash happened although we hope to be able to bring you more information when it’s available.

The road was closed off to motorists for several hours and has now reopened.
