Arriva Buses: Drivers reject latest pay offer

Arriva bus drivers voted to reject the latest offer today and now they continue to be on strike until Arriva brings another improved offer to the unions.

The latest offer was 9.6% which was more than the 8.5% the firm initially offered drivers, an Arriva spokesperson has said “We are very disappointed” and we know many people who use the buses to get out and about will also be very disappointed.

This new offer was better and clearly these drivers are trying to get as much out of the company as possible, however Arriva would have been better to have offered a flat 10% and maybe this will be the next offer which will end the strike which has gone on for too long.

People in Partington will be hardest hit by this strike since they hardly have any buses!, we know GM Mayor Andy Burnham does not think so! now look at the situation! bring back Local Link! and we urge people in Partington to get in touch with Andy Burnham and TFGM about what is going on and to bring back Local Link with immediate effect.

People using the 263 service and other services will be affected by the strike although these people can use the Metrolink and other buses to get about.
