Unions who represent Arriva bus drivers told them all to suspend the strike after Arriva increased the pay offer from 9.6% to 11.1%.
However Unite the Union has brought forward a ballot on the increased pay offer and the vote result will be revealed tomorrow.
It is expected though all drivers will be happy with the improved pay offer and that they will also be given back pay from April.
This is great news for the time being after what has been a long drawn out strike that has caused people many transportation issues.
Unite the Union regional officer Dave Roberts said: “Following our members very strong rejection of the companies offer yesterday evening (9.6%) Arriva have seen sense and met the demands of our members by tabling a 11.1% pay deal.
Unite’s negotiating team is recommending the offer be accepted and the offer is being put to the vote.
The strike is suspended pending the outcome of the ballot and all drivers are to return to work to serve the needs of the community and public.
