Police close down one lane of Washway Road in Sale due to a collision

Police have closed down the southbound lane of A56 Washway Road in Sale from Eastway junction after a collision between two cars at around 5pm.

The Air Ambulance was called and landed on the car park of the Pelican Pub, with the captain talking to local people.

Onlookers saw four paramedics from the helicopter heading towards a police van and vanished!, Police later taped off the scene.

One ambulance worker told us that someone had been injured in the crash but could not tell us any information

It is hard to tell what had happened, no one witnessed the accident however it looks like one car smashed into the back of another, and no air bags was seemingly deployed, we are not aware if anyone else had been injured.

Motorists are diverting down Eastway going south bound, we suggest doing that and going down Langdale Road and back onto the A56, North Bound traffic is flowing well at this time.
