Urmston woman Claire Walmsley has launched a kickstarter campaiign to self publish her first children’s picture book ‘The town that threw everything away’ she has until 24 September to raise at least £1250 and needs your help!

The fun and engaging story aimed at children aged 4-8 was written to encourage children and adults to talk about sustainability which is an important message in currant times.

Claire and her family started their eco journey a few years ago and know its not about being perfect but about starting, that’s the takeaway message from the story – small steps are the way forward.

Despite the book not yet being in print Claire has been performing the story locally in libraries, schools, and local refill shops using props and puppets.People have praised her inventive and creative story telling and children particularly like the characters known as the Drewd.

Claire has worked tirelessly to get the project of the ground but it hasn’t always been easy as she suffers from Crohn’s Disease which is a chronic condition, she has since been in hospital twice so far in 2022.
