One Trafford partnership has started the 192 road repair plan for 2022/23

Work has already got underway to resurface Chester Road in Old Trafford and Woodhouse Lane in Sale, other roads that will see resurfacing and reconstruction are Edge Lane in Stretford, Moss Lane in Altrincham and Chapel Lane in Partington.

We with residents made numerous complaints about the state of Chapel Lane in Partington as the road resembles the moon surface and is not straight so this road will be reconstructed.

Trafford’s roads are in a bad state, the junction of the A56 and Sinderland Road is dangerous for cyclists turning left towards Sale, this area is in dire need of a pelican crossing something the Trafford Tory group have been trying to get for residents for sometime.

Sinderland Lane has recently been resurfaced and although it’s welcomed the distance of the work was very short and they missed much of where resurfacing was needed.

Next year we will ‘start’ to see driverless cars on our roads so it is vital the council makes sure road surfaces are up to scratch.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Environmental Services, said:

“I’m delighted that Trafford Council is continuing to invest in protecting one of the borough’s most valuable assets. The new set of schemes are vital for providing safe travel for everyone. By investing and protecting the road network, we’re able to transform journeys and enable our communities to thrive and connect. The programme is also a step closer to providing an efficient network which is accessible to all road users and to support further active travel initiatives.

Any residents or businesses who may be affected by upcoming roadworks will be contacted directly by the highways team. Residents may receive a letter with details of individual schemes on their road or in some cases, a visit from a member of staff. Any diversions or temporary traffic lights will be signposted ahead of scheduled scheme start date so that everyone can plan their journeys.”
