A TUI Boeing 737-8 jet that took off from Manchester to Izmir has to return back to Manchester due to a reported technical glitch.

The flight crew declared the Emergency at around 1am this morning and did circles around the Peak District, interestingly five other aircraft also joined the holding pattern, further west another three aircraft were in a holding pattern over Warrington waiting to land at Manchester.

People took to social media saying they heard the TUI jet and was lower than normal, many also checked out the app FlightRadar 24 which gave real time information.

After around an hour the Emergency flight got clearance to land and it did so safely and returned to the gate after an inspection.

The other aircraft in the holding patterns were waiting for the Emergency flight to land, around 15 to 20 minutes later one by one all the other aircaft landed back at Manchester.
