New activity hall approved for a Scout Group in Stretford

Much of The Shippon Building in Longford Park in Stretford has been vacant with only the Scout group presently using the eastern side of the U shaped building.

An application was submitted by the scout group for the building to be brought back to life with a new activity hall that will help not only improve themselves but other community groups in the area.

The decision by Trafford Planning to approve also came with some conditions such as hours of opening and closing.

Only one objection was listed on the application.

Although we believe the decision was unanimous those watching the planning meeting on YouTube live could hear nothing with yet another glitchy livestream which meant no comments could be included in this article.

What we can say though the Shippon Building is just about to get a well overdue upgrade and will be a well used much loved facility for years to come.
