Wellington Bomber memorial in Walton Park postponed

We have been passed details that the Wellington Bomber memorial planned for tomorrow (Sept 21) at 11am in Walton Park, Sale has been postponed.

Brooklands Councillor Rose Thompson has sent out an email to a resident of the bad news that the event will not be taking place.

We are not sure yet when the event will be rearranged or why the event was cancelled and once known we will update this article.

The plans were for a plaque to be placed near the scouts hut in the park and a information board to have been placed behind it.

Some of the crew who managed to crash land away from houses died on the way to Altrincham hospital, it crashed in allotments which is now a football field, the captain is buried in a Chester cemetery, many people on Walton Road at the time of the crash were true heroes on the night trying hard to help the crew and should also be remembered.
