Yes! tonight Jupiter will be the brightest thing in the sky as it comes so close you can even see it with the naked eye.
Jupiter makes its closest approach in over 50 years tonight and it won’t be seen again this close to Earth in over 100 years.
To get a better view of Jupiter tonight all you will need is a bridge camera or a DSLR with a simple 70/300 lens, some mobile phone cameras will also give you some good results such as the Samsung S21 and S22, Google Pixel will do a good job and other mobile phones that has some optical zoom, if you have an iPhone depending on how old it is this will also do a fairly good job of taking some great images.
Jupiter is a gas giant! and it is said the planet is 4.6 billion years old and is normally 591.45m km from Earth.
The only thing that could ruin things is the clouds, having checked radar at 2pm it shows a fairly clear sky so we with any luck here in Manchester will get to see this mega sized planet full of hydrogen and helium gases.
