Woman in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Mancunian Way

Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a female pedestrian on Mancunian Way at around 1.25am today 8 October 2022.

Emergency services attended the scene, and 20-year-old female has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Our initial enquiries suggest that the woman was walking towards the eastbound carriage way of the A57 (Mancunian Way), crosses the eastbound carriage way safely and waits in the central reservation of the carriage way.

Upon attempting to cross the westbound carriageway this is where she is knocked down by a vehicle.
