Many people were confused including strewards with the mile and a half road closure starting at Harboro Roadp for the Manchester Half Marathon.

The route the runners went down was nowhere near Harboro Way meaning many people could not travel north bound, one person told us they should have only closed off Sibson Road in Sale.

Our reporter spoke to several stewards and the feedback was no one had a clue, no information provided by any of them and all had confusing bits of A4 paper, one female steward told him that the website is out of date, another female steward told him to speak to someone in an orange bib who will have more information which was not true.

The event though itself got underway with no issues and lots of spectators were seen near Sale Metrolink station although numbers were much reduced due to the route.

One of the best things about any marathon is the fun runners and today the spectators were delighted when they saw Superman running past them, music was on hand by a brilliant brass band near Dane Road.

We have asked the event organisers for comments about the issues our reporter had experienced and to help the public understand clearly what is happening.
