Road reopens after a fuel spillage at a Petrol Station in Urmston

A fuel spillage was the cause of a road closure at the Texaco garage on Broadway in Urmston this afternoon.

The incident happened at around 4pm and caused headaches for motorists who had to divert as firefighters from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service got to work and has since made things safe again.

Police came on to social media to tell residents to close all windows due to the fumes.

The area is still suffering from congestion and will take time to clear some two hours after the incident.
