Will Cannabis ever become a ‘Class A’ drug in the UK?

It seems The Home Secretary Suella Braverman was looking at the possibility of up rating Cannabis from a Class B drug to Class A alongside Heroin and Cocaine.

The smelly weed which is widely known to cause Psychosis and in long term users a higher chance of catching lung cancer, even birth defects has been blamed on Cannabis use.

However things now are not so clear as other political people are saying it should be kept as a ‘Class B’ drug as they want the police to focus on those that use Class A drugs that cause society the biggest problems.

Police would also have to change things as they offer a slap on the hand for someone getting caught out smoking the substance as of now, however Police will arrest anyone caught smoking Cannabis in a car and the user will find him or herself in serious trouble.

Growing Cannabis or selling it will also come with a custodial sentence, if the drug does become a ‘Class A’ drug the sentence will increase and Police will have to remove the slap on the wrist, Police are already stretched to the limit so they would find it impossible to catch everyone.
